Woodland Witch - Out September 12, 2022!

Big news!

Woodland Witch, a fantasy short story about what happens when a mushroom witch and a group of abandoned location explorers collide, will be released on September 12, 2022. Here’s the cover:

Pretty, right? I bought the cover from a premade book cover shop on Etsy, and the design came with a matching title page which I’m very excited about! As for the story, I bought the cover before writing since I’ve learned I like to have a visual to help make the story feel more real to me, and more tangible, prior to finishing up the draft writing portion of the project. This one’s in draft mode, and then I’ll go through it at least once before sending it off to my editor, and the whole thing will be good to go come September 12.

If you follow me on social media, you may have seen that the original release date was in August. However, once illness made its way through my house (totally expected when I have two young kids in school), I realized that date would be pushed back. My main priority is always my family, so when they need me everything else becomes less important.

That said, I’m excited to share this story with you all in a few weeks.

Here’s the blurb for woodland witch:

In a long abandoned cottage, a witch named Flora finds peace among the wreckage and decay. With a menagerie of woodland creatures at her side, she seeks out knowledge of earth magic in the forest, studying mushrooms and moss and improving her magical skills.

That will likely go through an update as the release date gets closer. And by the way…

You can preorder Woodland Witch here!

I love witches and magic users and have a fierce love of abandoned places, so this story was a fun one to write. I’ve also made a few aesthetic boards to offer some hints and insights on what will be in the story, here they are:

PS: I'll be giving out a few ARC copies of the story for free via my newsletter so sign up using the form below if you're interested.
